June 6, 3voor12/Utrecht celebrated its 6th birthday with two days of ‘bathroom festival’ at various locations across the city. It’s like a living room concert, but in a bathroom.. (duh)
I was invited too and Sascha went along. It was a steaming hot day and the bathroom we played in was just big enough for a few micophones, a camera and some listeners. But it was nice! Check the other bathroom sessions too at www.badkamersessies.nl! There’s some really cool stuff on there!
Earlier this month, a track of ours appeared on the 3voor12 ‘Hollandse Nieuwe’ (‘New Dutch’), the monthly online compilation of music of new Dutch acts. For that occasion, they published an article about us and the upcoming album as a kind of introduction to the national 3voor12 public. Read it (in Dutch)! – T.0
It’s been a month since I moved out of my villa in Utrecht. But before I packed my bags, I made sure I exploited the magnificent acoustics of the place to the max. Especially the main hall, with its marble stairs and balustrade, delivered a beautiful, sparkling reverb. We recorded strings, horns and some backing vocals there. But most important: the (live) recording of ‘Eurydice’. For that occasion, I invited two buddies of mine, Sander Smit and Robrecht de Vocht, to capture the whole thing on tape. Sander made a mini documentary out of it. I think he did a great job! Check it out! – T.
